Fine Margins ("we", "us", "the site") is a Test cricket analytics site and game at fine-margins.com, run by Ansh Bansal as an individual, based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how we store it, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. For the purposes of that legislation, the data controller is Ansh Bansal.

What we collect

We collect the minimum needed to run the site and game:

• Your email address, if you create an account. We use it to sign you in (via a one-time code) and to identify your account.
• Your game progress — the levels and scenarios you've played, stars earned, and results. This is tied to your account so it syncs across devices.
• Purchase records, if you buy the paid unlock — a record that you paid, so we can grant access. Payment card details are handled entirely by our payment provider (see below) and never reach us.
• Basic technical data — a session cookie to keep you logged in, and server logs that may include your IP address for security and to keep the service running.

If you do not create an account, you can still play; progress is stored only in your browser and we hold no personal data about you.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages are popular. It is privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies, does not track you across websites, and does not collect personal data that identifies you. We only see aggregate figures such as page views and referring sites.

Why we're allowed to process it (lawful basis)

• Contract: we process your email, progress and purchase records to provide the account and game you've asked for.
• Legitimate interests: we process basic technical/log data to keep the service secure and working.
• Legal obligation: we keep purchase records as long as required for tax and accounting.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data, ever, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling. We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site, and your data is shared with them only so they can perform their function:

• Neon — our database provider, which stores your account and progress.
• Resend — sends your sign-in code emails.
• Fungies — our payment provider and Merchant of Record, which processes purchases and handles all payment and card data. Fungies is the legal seller of the paid unlock. See Fungies' own privacy terms for how they handle payment data.
• Vercel — hosts the site and provides the privacy-friendly analytics above.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data, except purchase records, which we must keep for a limited period to meet UK tax and accounting rules (typically six years).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email finemarginscc@gmail.com and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. We collect only the minimum data needed, do not profile users, and do not use manipulative techniques to encourage anyone to share more data than necessary. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site develops. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
